Since we last updated we have passed the 100, 150, annnnd 200 mile markers! We climbed the highest peak on the AT ( Clingman's dome) and are under 2,000 miles! We have about 1,880ish left.
Jesse has recovered from his bout with strep throat quite nicely. No more illness for either of us.
We are currently in Gatlinburg, TN. We had no idea this place was so big or popular. Most of our time here was spent at the outfitter. My sleeping pad had a hole(s) and I was in desperate need of some new boots. We did however, get to do a free wine tasting and got dinner with some of our new hiking friends. Yesterday we ran into some amazing trail magic from some previous thru hikers, the fed us, took us to town and the grocery store and are coming back today to take us back! We are about half way through the Smokies right now. The views have been great but it's cold! Calling for snow on Tuesday, not looking forward to that! Our daily mileage is increasing, up to 14-16 miles a day. We should be at standing bear farms in 2 days, then on to Hot Springs, which is after we finish the Smokies. That's all for now...
